Sometimes when we home school we spend all day with our children but we fail to spend FUN quality time. I have joined the “Face Time With The Kids” End 08 Great challenge. It is all about spending some real, quality time with our children.

This week I plan to try to do something fun with them....today I want to go to the park and tomorrow I have a fun craft for us to do. I will try to post pictures if possible.
Needless to say I almost missed this months challenge but I would like to keep it up. Feel free to send me some ideas or join me in the fun.

(Those who can pray , please pray that I can find my camera. I bought a new one but allowed some children that hang out at my house to use it. I have not used it but maybe 3 times myself and now it is misplaced. All of the testimonies of God helping the saints find things that have been lost makes me think that maybe I should make this a matter of prayer.)

Heidi and Paul Jackson's twin girls, Brielle and Kyrie, were born October 17, 1995, 12 weeks ahead of their due date. Standard hospital practice is to place preemie twins in separate incubators to reduce the risk of infection. that was done for the Jackson girls in the neonatal intensive care unit at The Medical Center of Central Massachusetts in Worcester.
Kyrie, the larger sister at two pounds, three ounces, quickly began gaining weight and calmly sleeping her newborn days away. But Brielle, who weighed only two pounds at birth, couldn't keep up with her. She had breathing and heart-rate problems. The oxygen level in her blood was low, and her weight gain was slow.
Suddenly, on November 12, Brielle went into critical condition. She began gasping for breath, and her face and stick-thin arms and legs turned bluish-gray. Her heart rate was way up, and she got hiccups, a dangerous sign that her body was under stress. Her parents watched, terrified that she might die.
Nurse Gayle Kasparian tried everything she could think of to stabilize Brielle. She suctioned her breathing passages and turned up the oxygen flow to the incubator. Still Brielle squirmed and fussed as her oxygen intake plummeted and her heart rate soared.
Then Kasparian remembered something she had heard from a colleague. It was a procedure, common in parts of Europe but almost unheard of in this country, that called for double-bedding multiple-birth babies, especially preemies.
Kasparian's nurse manager, Susan Fitzback, was away at a conference, and the arrangement was unorthodox. But Kasparian decided to take the risk.
"Let me just try putting Brielle in with her sister to see if that helps," she said to the alarmed parents. "I don't know what else to do."
The Jacksons quickly gave the go-ahead, and Kasparian slipped the squirming baby into the incubator holding the sister she hadn't seen since birth. Then Kasparian and the Jacksons watched.
No sooner had the door of the incubator closed then Brielle snuggled up to Kyrie - and calmed right down. Within minutes Brielle's blood-oxygen readings were the best they had been since she was born. As she dozed, Kyrie wrapped her tiny arm around her smaller sibling.
By coincidence, the conference Fitzback was attending included a presentation on double-bedding. This is something I want to see happen at The Medical Center, she thought. But it might be hard making the change. On her return she was doing rounds when the nurse caring for the twins that morning said, "Sue, take a look in that isolette over there."
"I can't believe this," Fitzback said. "This is so beautiful.""You mean, we can do it?" asked the nurse."Of course we can," Fitzback replied.
Today a handful of institutions around the country are adopting double-bedding, which seems to reduce the number of hospital days. The practice is growing quickly, even though the first scientific studies on it didn't begin until this past January.
But Heidi and Paul Jackson don't need any studies to know that double-bedding helped Brielle. She is thriving. In fact, now that the two girls are home, they still steep together - and still snuggle.

Barry has FINALLY painted my bedroom........

I have finally picked a color for my bedroom, bought the paint and Barry is finished painting it. You wouldn't believe what it cost me to get this done. (A pound cake and two Sweet Potato Casseroles..... ) LOL. Wait that's is not all.......there is more!!!! I no longer own a water bed!!!!! I have wanted a regular bed for years but Barry was convinced that he could not sleep on one. I bought a soft-side water bed mattress thinking I would ease him into this one but he never would even try it. Arrrgggg.

I was at a friends house that was preparing for an Estate sale. I called Barry and ask him if I could buy this bed and he must not have had his coffee yet (no wait that is when he is grouchy) any way, he agreed and I bought the bed before he had time to change his mind.

The cool part is that I listed my (old) bedroom suite on Huntsville Trader and sold it for $50 less than I had to pay for my (new to me) bedroom suite. COOL!!!

Here are some after and before pictures. (they loaded backward...) I am not finished ......I haven't found a comforter set that I like enough to pay the price for. Give me your ideas. If I can I will post a picture of the material that I am trying to use.

The little monkeys on the night stand are one of my prize possessions. Christmas present from my kids last year. I was impressed that they KNEW that I like Butler Monkeys. These are monkeys that wear clothes. That is what my main theme is but I just happened to have other jungle items (thanks Mom).

NOTICE: There is no Mustang paraphernalia in the bedroom any more. I also moved out the massive C.D. collection that you see in the curio case of the dresser.

This is a Better Boy Pizza from Mater's Pizza. This was our favorite pizza place in Boaz. They shut down a few years ago and we just found the original one today. It opened in Gadsden in 1978 and now covers a half a city block.

As everyone else has said...I am thankful that God allowed me to go to Knoxville Camp meeting one more time!
Sunday, my niece ask me how camp-meeting went...now how do you explain camp-meeting to an unsaved person. They don't understand about unity and the love of the saints. How your heart swells as the saints drive in and really miss the ones who didn't get to attend this year. How you rejoice when God has answered prayer and supplied the "oil" for Sis. Krista. They could never know the joy of meeting new converts and feeling like you have always known them or what it feels like to rejoice with a pastor who has finally sold their house. To carry a burden for "my wife Debra" and other saints loved ones.
I feel like I have been to a family re-union besides I have more in common with this "family" and I actually WANT to go.
If you didn't get to go this year do your faith a favor and purchase Sis. Krista and Brooklyn's testimony tape. And start saving your money now....next year will be great too. God will be there and if the Lord is willing I will be there to.

Life can be hectic around here so we didn't get around to posting that Rhiannon had a birthday on Sept. 22......Number 7

I am just ITCHING to go camping!!! We have sooooo many fond memories of our past camping trips.....I'm ready to make some more. My mind has conjured up ALL sorts of trips...before and after KCM....with Alabama saints and Saints from all over. Can you imagine camping with Bro. Robin Thames, Bro. Dale Parker and Bro. Ralph Williams....if that is not enough we could always add Sis. Linda Dillingham, Sis. Donna Broom and Sis. Jennifer Nordstrom (as long as she brought those awesome boys! They would add some spice to life) . We could have SOME FUN hiding snakes in Bro. Robins tent....Wooowee wouldn't that be fun.

Yeah, I know that I could just "camp" at KCM. I guess that would really make it "CAMP-MEETING"....I just might would IF I had better sucess with an air-mattress...I don't think that I have slept on the same air-mattress for a whole night without adding air in the middle of the night. I have tried SEVERAL different brands and have not found the right one yet.

Anyone game?

As you can tell, Me and Rita was always together. We have shared many good times and some bad times but we have always had each other. Life sure changed when she got married....I had to find someone else to hang out with.

It is really amazing to me the way that God can use simple things to cause us to realize how REALLY blessed we are.
I just returned from my (un-saved) twin sisters birthday party and I must admit that I did enjoy myself. There is a bond with family members that you will always have even if you walk two different paths. I enjoyed seeing my two sisters and both of my parents as well as some old friends that I use to hang with in my wilder days. I also made friends with a number of the folks that "hang out" with my sister and her kids. I am praying that God will give me favor with these young people.
Back to the blessings that we have....
As I was at my sisters party I realized how really sad and lonely most peoples lives really are. Even though on the surface they seem to be whooping it up and having a good time, deep down they are lonely.
All they really want in life is to be happy, have friends that really care about them and a companion that is faithful.
I am really blessed. Thanks to God, I have all of these things and more!!!!

Can you believe I turned 29???? I didn't think so. Just a hint...my twin sister turned 39 years old on August 31.
I enjoyed my birthday at Amigos and would like to say thanks to all my dear sisters that helped me celebrate. I was really suprised that Sis. Haney took the time out of her busy schedule to come. She is one of my Church of God idols. I wish you all could have been there.
Gotta go, OLD folks like me should be in the bed at this time.
